Burger King

Burger King relaunched its website – BK.com – yesterday. Do those ads with the creepy looking king annoy you? Then move the interactive “king” slider all the way to the left and you won’t see him on the website anymore. You can do the same with the “fun” slider if you are only on the website to find a store, check nutritional facts or read about new products (like I usually am when visiting a restaurant’s website). While I am not a Burger King fan, I commend their website’s user-friendly Flash design. You can build an entire meal, even choosing which condiments or side items you want, and you will get the nutritional value of everything you ate on your BK binge.

“This enhanced Web site bridges the gap between what audiences see on television, in restaurants and online, bringing together the advertising and viral content that super fans have come to know and love from Burger King,” said Brian Gies, vice president, marketing impact for BK.

I still find it odd that fast food chains have fans. I mean, I love Sonic. But I’m a fan of the food, not the company itself.
